We all have the right to defend our property, but not all guns are created equal when it comes to that task. At Surplus Ammo, we have extensive experience with our second amendment rights, and we know the best firearms for protecting your property. Keep in mind that many people will have different opinions on this, and it’s important to find the solution that works uniquely for your home.
In this series of blogs, we have worked our way through rifles, semi-automatic pistols, and revolvers. Rifles are the least effective because of their size and power. Semi-automatic pistols are better, but not by much, because they are complex to work. Double-action revolvers are much better, because they are simple and do not have to be manually cocked before every shot. However, we can do better than that!
- We believe that shotguns make the best defense, because you can fire them accurately, and their spreading patterns ensure that you hit your target even if your aim is off. They are also easy to use.
- There are multiple types of shotgun actions. We recommend the pump action shotgun, because it is dependable, affordable, and easy to load and fire.
- While you can consider the single shot, double barrel, and semi-automatic shotgun, none of those three offer the benefits of the pump action shotgun.
