As there is about 100 different sources for AR lowers I was a bit unsure about the best one to get for the money. I had bought this lower and a MEGA forged lower for a piston AR build totally expecting the MEGA to be the better of the 2. I was pleasantly surprised the Aero was a much better fit and finish overall, and a better fit for my Vltor Upper (finish not perfect but pretty damn good). Finish is super smooth matte which on par with an M&P 15 I also have. Metal (Midway AR Stoner) and Magpul magazines function without problem. I used a Rock River Arms parts kit also from Surplus AA that fit with no problem (though I used a Timney trigger but the Rock River Pins)
If you are looking for a quality lower with a smooth matte finish, this will fit the bill. Will be using Aero (or SSA) lowers for suture builds.

The lower receiver was well machined and finished. A little more machining effort on the stock area and it would be perfect.

Having had 15 of the .223 and 2 of the .308 stripped lowers for builds of my own or customers I can attest to these being as good as it gets for an AR lower. In the past 3 years these have assembled perfect each and every time. Using Rock River which is known for very tight fit and LMT uppers as well as a colt upper build. All worked together with these nicely.

This was my sons and mine first build. We watched several Utube videos and downloaded a step by step directions. All the DPMS parts fit well, we used lots of masking tape to protect the finish. The build went great! When we mated up with the HBAR upper we purchased from Surplus Ammo the fit was amazing and very tight. My son said "this is easier than Legos". We were very pleased with this lower!

I bought a couple of these lowers a while ago just to hold onto. Now, a lot of people take into account the rollmark styling, so here's my take: Aero doesn't have a "badass" logo, but it's clean. And the typography for the markings are bold and clean. The selector graphics are also quite nice. So I'd say that it's professional.
Both lowers sat in my safe for a while, and then one day decided I was finally ready to build my own rifle. So I bought a BCM mid length upper (beautiful), assembled the lower with other quality parts, and held my breath the first time I pinned the upper receiver to the assembled lower... the result? I can't imagine them being a better fit, there is absolutely no wiggle.
The only drawback? It's type II annodized, so not quite as hard as some of the lowers with mil spec finishes. But it's mil spec in every other way. So what's going to happen? It's going to show wear. So what, I didn't buy it to be a safe queen, I bought it to put it through the ringer, and the wear marks will add character.
Buying an Aero lower made sense to me because it let me put that extra $100 into a quality upper receiver assembly, which is so much more important to your rifle's function than the lower. Money well spent in my book.

A buddy and I bought three stripped lowers ... and held our breath. They came in well packed and undamaged. Looked very good.
Completed my two ... dead nuts dimensionally accurate! The fit to Aero Precision uppers is perfect (and they required very little to square). Fit to BRO, Bushy, RR, and BCM uppers is superb.
Lettering and symbology is pretty! No tool marks. Finish is even and tough.
Wonderful parts at a great price! Will use them for all forged applications ;-)
