Black Hole Weaponry AR-15 18" Rifle-Length Stainless Steel 1:8 Polygonal Rifled Barrel - 5.56 Chamber
Black Hole Weaponry Barrels employ the use of 416R, match grade stainless steel. BHW Barrels specialize in Polygonal rifling; The shape of the lands and grooves are based on a circle, so there are no sharp corners or edges for the bullet to conform into. This means there is a tight seal and thus less bullet deformation. This rifling form is unique in its ability to allow the bullet to be centered and fully supported by the barrel’s bore. This arc shaped rifling has long been held in very high regard for its accuracy, increased velocity, reduced gas cutting and ease of cleaning.

The barrel s a little lighter than I expected from an 18” HBAR, and the free stripped upper it came with was a pretty nice touch as well. Initial shots have me extremely happy with it so far, and it has shot 1/2moa groups with no wind. Combined with the sale, I am extremely happy with this barrel. Im definitely going to BHW for any future AR builds.
Bought it for a precision rifle build, went through the break in and sighted it at 100 yards. Consistently groups inside a fifty cent piece at 300yds. Can't beat that
Love this barrel works great easy install and looks great
Great Transaction. Surplus Ammo is first rate. I will be using them again, you can buy with confidence.
Barrel finish was better than in the picture. I was very glad to see the barrel dimpled at the gas block. The free upper was awesome!! Top has a flag and T markings. The upper is set up for forward assist and dust cover. I will be back for more!!!!!
I have always wanted an 18 inch AR for midrange precision shooting. I decided to go with the black hole weaponry. The price at surplus ammo is better than their own website plus you get a free upper so bonus. I put the rifle together with a good free floated handguard and Geissele two stage trigger. The break in instructions say shoot 5 and clean for the first 60 rounds. I started with cheap 55g FMJ for the break in. I then switched to MK262 77g ammo. I got consistent 1/2 inch groups with factory MK262 at 100 yards and 3/4 inch groups with my own hand loads of 77g SMKs over 25g of 8208 XBR. With an H2 buffer and carbine receiver extension it is a soft shooting easy to be accurate gun. I used a JP Enterprises brake and literally the crosshairs stay on target during the recoil.
I bought this barrel one week ago for my first AR build and have run over 100 rounds of ammo through it. The poly rifling cleans up quickly with a bore snake. Today I shot a 1.25" group at 200 yds. Mixed brass, 22 gr of IMR 8208 XBR, Hornady 77 gr match bullet, COL 2.250", 2525 fps. I can heat load a little, but already pleased with the results.
Did my barrel break in last night, this barrel suprised me! First 5 rounds out of the barrel grouped at .75" at 100yds. If that isn't enough, I was using a 1-4x scope! Looking forward to seeing how it does in the future.
I got this barrel a year ago and love it. Free float a handguard ofer the gas block. Amazing barrel. It is pretty heavy. I am using this for 3-gun. Lets just say this barrel is much more accurate than I am!
