Black Hole Weaponry AR-15 18" Rifle-Length Stainless Steel 1:8 Polygonal Rifled Barrel - 5.56 Chamber
***Includes FREE Assembled Nitride AR15 Bolt - Head Spaced to Barrel
Black Hole Weaponry Barrels employ the use of 416R, match grade stainless steel. BHW Barrels specialize in Polygonal rifling; The shape of the lands and grooves are based on a circle, so there are no sharp corners or edges for the bullet to conform into. This means there is a tight seal and thus less bullet deformation. This rifling form is unique in its ability to allow the bullet to be centered and fully supported by the barrel’s bore. This arc shaped rifling has long been held in very high regard for its accuracy, increased velocity, reduced gas cutting and ease of cleaning.

Still breaking in the barrel per Black Hole Weaponry's recommendation. Completed 40 rds of the recommended 60.
The first couple 5 shot groups were not too good. By the end of the day, I had shot a total of 8 groups cleaning the barrel between each group.
Things quickly tightened up with a 5 shot group in one ragged hole at 100 yards.
Last 5 rounds were shot at 200 yards with a group just under 1-5/8". All shooting was done with Winchester 223 match ammo with 77 gr SMK bullets.
Barrel came very well packed and protected, and shipping was fast. I was a little nervous buying from SAA because I'd never heard of them. Service was great, and can't beat those prices! Definitely will buy from then again. Will post an update when I get a chance to actually shoot the barrel, so far so good!!
Excellent barrel. With handloads, I'm getting between .600" and .750" using 55gr Hornady V-Max bullets and about 1.75" to 2" with Federal XM193... not bad at all in my book.
I also have the 20" barrel and can't wait to test it.
This barrel is a tack driver(sub moe) with any bullet weight from 55gr-75gr. Also it cleans up extremely fast with little jacket fouling. This barrel is match grade in my book and a great deal.
Bought for my first AR build. Nice exterior finish and very snug fit into the included SAA upper. Barrel shot multiple sub-MOA 5-shot groups at 100yd with Hornady 75gr Steel Match and a gritty milspec trigger. With a better trigger and tuned handloads, I expect near 0.5MOA accuracy potential.
